Lucid Lane is addressing the substance use / medication dependence problem that 35M Americans face, costing the economy over $100B annually in addition to causing irreparable harm and loss of life. Millions of people are becoming dependent on prescribed medications like opioids and benzodiazepines after an illness or surgery. Lucid Lane’s mission is to PREVENT, and end, their reliance on addictive medications, while improving their pain and mental health to help them live a better, healthier life.
Lucid Lane is growing rapidly with recurring patient referrals from major health systems, clinics, and surgery centers where it is becoming a standard of care. We have contracts with health systems and over 100 private and government (medicare and medicaid) health plan contracts for getting reimbursed, along with self-insured employers. We operate in 40 states nationally, with major hubs in Texas, California, Utah, Arizona, and Georgia.
About the speaker
Ahmed Zaafran, Co-Founder, Chief Medical Officer
Ahmed is the co-founder and Chief Medical Officer of Lucid Lane. He is a board certified anesthesiologist and still practices in the San Francisco Bay area. He trained at The University of Texas McGovern School of Medicine in anesthesiology prior to joining the faculty of the Stanford University School of Medicine from 2012-2021. In 2013, he completed his Certification in Entrepreneurship and Global Innovation through the Graduate School of Business (GSB) Stanford Ignite Program, which led to his role as the Director of Development for Stanford Medicine X-Middle East Region and as a team member of Stanford Healthcare Innovation.
