Vectors Capital – Osman Ghafoor
Bio
I have been part of the Bay Area Community since 1999, having moved here from my place of birth, the UK. The Bay area has been home to me and the place I have chosen to raise my family. I enjoy being part of the WVMA community and give my time back by serving on the Board. I am a VP at Silver Lake, a private equity firm that has been involved in many high profile investments and exits. I have an expertise in the back office operations within the Alternative Assets space. I have a bachelors in Accounting and Finance from the UK, I am a UK Chartered Management Accountant. I received my MBA from Cornell University and I’ve been exploring the options of being more involved in the front office within the VC space. This brings me to my present initiative, where I am looking to fundraise for Vectors Capital, a successful Angel group now looking raise $20Million for their Climate Change focused Fund.
Pitch in a nut shell
After identifying this market gap, we are fundraising for our launch of Vectors Capital’s Climate Frontier Fund I to employ a novel investment strategy to guide seed stage Deep-Tech x Climate startups through the early phases. This fund brings practical learning from our previous successful investments (through SPVs). The team’s expertise in Climate-Tech commercialization is looking to establish itself as the Fund that commercializes fronter climate solutions.
